You Can't Make This Stuff Up Or Hey Ho Let's Go!

Did you ever hear, see, read, experience etc. something so bizarre that it had to be fiction, only to realize it wasn't? Oh wait, maybe the thought police or the Libs for less coarse media will take issue with the title of this post. Anyway, we live this everyday whether we notice it or not. We have elected officials trying to be tough on these border jumpers by saying if they find any with criminal record they will notify ICE or whatever other do nothing agency there is. Hmm, I was taught that if you do something illegal you are a criminal. SUCH AS CROSSING THE BORDER WITHOUT PROPER AUTHORIZATION MAKES YOU WHAT, KIDS? AN ILLEGAL ALIEN!! ILLEGAL, doesn't that mean you have done something criminal? Or how about these christian Reverends who want people run off the air for what they have said but forget the vitriolic pablum that has spewed from their own maws. Or certain U.S. Senators spouting treasonous statements but yet calling for impeachments because their side lost. BOO HOO for them. I am tired of turning on the T.V. or radio and listening to those people yammer on and on about how bad everything is. Well, again I was taught if you don't like what is on T.V. CHANGE THE FILPPIN' CHANNEL. I believe it was the late Sam Kinnison who said that he didn't feel sorry for the people starving in the desert. As he stated, nothing grows in the desert, so move. Or these people who year after year have their homes damaged by floods and then put their hands out. DO SOMETHING! Move, take out flood insurance, something. But don't prey on the loving big hearts of the people of this great nation. Whatever happened to personal responsibility? I guess they don't teach that in school anymore. But it is O.K. for parents to let the schools raise their kids. Right? Why do all these minorities rail against conservatives and Republicans yet embrace leaders that really do keep them in and endless cycle of entitlement programs. I read in a book once if you give a man a fish, he eats for a day but if you teach him to fish he will eat for a lifetime. That was a great book, I've read it several times and always seem to find something new each time. This nanny state that we are creating in this country is frightening. I do not want the government running my life, I can screw it up by myself thank you very much. Although if I let the government run it I can blame someone else and get a big check every month just because I exist and am a victim. Let us get this straight folks, I am a minority and we should feel sorry for me. I am a white middle class working male who is doing the best he can for his family. Sorry, ADD moment. Why don't we just teach people to fish anymore.

Why?

Why? It probably is the greatest question ever. Why is the sky blue? Why do men climb mountains? Why do we exist? Why am I doing this? There are millions of blogs out there, and I am not so delusional to think that mine will change the world. I wanted to do this for a while but never had the time. Not that I have a whole lot of extra time now. A young girl my beloved wife works with inadvertently prompted me to do this. See, she lost her faith. This is not some religious nut blog although religion will be here now and then. I felt sorry for this girl. She's a good kid. We see all the horrors that have occurred lately and wonder about this generation. Remember, these are our future leaders and the ones choosing our nursing homes. I want better for my kids and yours. I don't pretend to know the answers to everything, but with faith it helps get me through. All of us have faith in something. It may be our government, a religion, our spouse or significant other, or something as small as knowing the sun will come up tomorrow and if it doesn't we are screwed anyway and none of this matters. I realize that this rambles but my ADD is kicking in. Faith is the most important thing that we have in our lives, without it we have nothing. Even when our faith is shaken it returns because we eventually find something else to believe in. Hopefully, the thing we have the most faith in, is ourselves.
